Title: Favourite Quotes
Post by: Sheila248 on 21 September, 2010, 08:50
Post your favourite quotes here.

Heard this on the radio this morning, Australian comedian Ahn Do's grandfather used to say it:

"There's only two times in life - Now and Too Late.  We only have Now so let's not make it Too Late."

One of my faves (not actually a quote, but I'm sure you get my drift):

The KISS principle = Keep It Simple, Stupid! :D

I'll work on the quotes ... honest!! :giggle:

I've read it in my English book when I was in high school and since I'm an avid reader it became my favourite quote:

"A room without books is like a body without a soul" ~ Cicero

Oh yes, very true indeed, Sweet.  I once house-sat a friends' place and couldn't find a single book in the place to read, other than books on pottery (the lady was an amateur potter) or ONE book on bush survival food (very interesting, but not for a whole week!) o.O  Not a dictionary, encyclopaedia, gardening book, nor any kind of reference book in sight ... not even a bible (not that I'd normally read a bible :nah:)!!! :/

Gawd, Smilie, the perfect 'books' for the dunny (toilet) are ladies' magazines ... cos they give one the irits (sh*ts) just looking at all the 'perfect' bodies and ads!!!!!! :nose:

I know what I'd want to use them for... if they were'nt so glossy!!
I really have little time for the mags.. because of the goss..  which makes me embarrassingly ignorant when it comes to celebraties..

I always think one's book shelves tell you alot about a person...    Maybe we should start a thread.. maybe not.

Just came across this one and like it (not sure if I've heard it before, but it sounds familiar!)

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.

Henry David Thoreau

'Whatever it is that you're not doing, go not do it somewhere else'  from a movie that my 'nephew in law' is writing, directing, casting, etc.  (It'll be a big flop, trust me, but I'm supposed to have a small part in it)
